Puncture Wound

Check out this Radiograph showing a large bit of wire puncturing Inka's foot.

Inka is owned by Amanda White in Storrington. Amanda called saying Inka was not able to stand on one of her hind feet. When I got there I found a little bit of twisted wire sticking out of her frog about an 1" back from the apex.

Like with all puncture wounds  you can't tell how far the foreign object has protruded, and what it has hit without a clear Radiograph. As you can see from this picture it was essential that the vets involved new exactly where this wire had gone so they could prescribe the correct treatment.

Despite the wire going puncturing the Deep Digital Flexor Tendon and the Digital Cushion, it missed the Navicular Bursa my millimeters. No surgery was needed and Inka is recovering well at home.
