Nothing in the field...
Next time someone says to me, "There is nothing in the field", or " He lives on fresh air". Below is an example of horses that get excited when a bit of tumble weed comes by! They are both a healthy weight and only have a handful of sunflower seeds a day, and two small hay nets each. So makes me think how much we over feed our horses?
Nice dry desert feet
This is how feet would be if we didn't keep them in boggy fields and the feet could toughen up naturally.
Oh Lordy
Whilst visiting Utah I was lucky enough to visit where Jen Reid works at bestfriends sanctuary caring for 1700 animals at any one time.
This I thought was an interesting horse to share with you. He was born with Lordosis of the spine, which is similar to Scoliosis. Due to the horse being born this way the spinal deviation does not have a disabling effect!
Evidence of me riding recently!
Some photographic evidence that I've been on a horse recently! I went for a lovely hack with a friend Jen Reid through a Canyon in Utah. It was stunning.
Anyone Lost a Hoof?
I have recently spent some time in Utah, and a friend of mine had found this hoof on a mountain. It's incredible the Pedal bone and shoe are still intact!!
I can only guess that it got eaten by another animal.
