Denver Zoo!

I'm currently in Colorado attending and speaking at a conference, but today I've been lucky enough to go to Denver Zoo with their regular farrier and good friend of mine Steve Foxworth. Not only did I get to see the behind the scenes working of the Zoo, but I got to trim a Przewalski's horse which is a true Wild Mongolian horse. This was such a unique experience getting the opportunity to see real wild feet, also to trim one knocked down with a tranquiliser gun, (which was a first for me).

As well as trimming this wild horse, I got to feed Zebra's, Giraffes, and a Camel. Steve's promised me that on another trip he'll organise for me to trim a Zebra.

Here are a few pictures from my exciting day. I know the Giraffe picture isn't shoeing related but it was just so cool.

NO LONGER - For Sale - Beautiful 16.1 Dutch Warmblood - Bay Gelding

This horse is just the lovliest horse in the world. Fantastic paces, brilliant to catch, shoe, load, dentist, vet etc, he has the sweetest nature and is really affectionate. He will excell in the right hands and would suit someone who loves schooling, hacking, dressage and the odd jump. He hacks alone and in company and is never strong or nasty.

If he was a person he'd be the perfect partner as he is stunning and gives more love than any horse Ive ever known.

He is for sale through no fault of his own and will be sorely missed therefore he must go to a 5* home and be loved and fussed.

Donkey CPD Course

I spent Friday morning at an excellent donkey course in Broadbridge Heath. The day started with lectures from one Farrier and one Vet that work at The Donkey Sanctuary in Devon. They have 8 farms that care for 2500 donkeys! We then had lots of frozen cadaver limbs of donkeys to look at, followed by two live donkeys to trim. Here are a few pictures from the day.
