Jen's New Project!!

Some of you may have seen some of Jen's project horses on here before but if not then to fill you in.... Jen Reid is a highly skilled farrier from Utah, she is employed to work at an Animal Sanctuary looking after all the horses foot care. www.bestfriends.org

Below are a series of pictures of a Mustang mare that has just arrived in a desperate state. Jen has been very realistic in explaining that she'll give this mare a chance but depending on the speed of improvement will depend on the prognosis.

The Farriery Practice Client Evening

Since joining the Farriery Practice we've been looking at what extra things we can do for our clients, so we decided to hold our first client evening.

On Thursday 15th March we had an evening of lectures and workshops. The topics covered were

Hoof Mapping and placement of Break-over

General foot anatomy

Laminitis

The bones below the knee

Frog function

A look at tendons

We were extremely pleased with how the evening went and a great turn out. We are planning on doing more of these evenings and as places are limited as our premises only comfortably holds about 40 please let me know if you want me to keep you updated on future events.
