In the previous post I showed the hospital plate that was fitted. Here i want to show you just how quickly this foot is recovering thanks to good healthy foot growth. These pictures were taken just 4 weeks apart. In the first one you could fit 4 whole swabs in the hole, and 4 weeks later just half a single swab.

Below are a series of pictures of a hospital plate I made up to enable this foot to be dressed after surgery from having a septic pedal bone.

This horse was a bit sore a few months ago so I put a pair of front shoes on for a couple of months which made the horse sound. There was nothing to see at this time on the sole but some discomfort with hoof testers. I was surprised to see a couple of months down the line this significant bruising, no wonder she was sore. Despite the discoloration she was perfectly comfortable with no foot pain.
