Indie's crack growing down

These two pictures are taken exactly 3 months apart. The top one in June and the bottom in September. Indie owned by Debbie and George Howells had knocked his coronary band about 9 months ago. It had formed a little split, this has gradually grown down from the top and the closer the crack gets to the bottom the more extreme it looks. This is a good example of how quickly the hoof capsule regenerates. From top to bottom the hoof takes on average 12 months to re-grow a a whole new hoof wall. So looking at the top picture with the split being half way down this is 6 months after the original damage, and the bottom one 9 months on. So I will add another picture in 3 months time and you shouldn't be able to see any damage at all. So look out for that around Christmas time.
