Shoeing during a Demo
First day of the clinic I was helping in a shoeing demo.

A Rock and Roll shoe
This is a Rock and Roll shoe, this is the first time I've seen one of these on a foot.
-
Heel view
Heel view of Rock and Roll shoe.
-
A Rubber shoe
Again this is shoe I'm not that familiar with but good to experience new things.
-
-
Toe out conformation
This horse doesn't have straight conformation, there is a video you can check out to see how this horse moves.
-
Collateral Ligament Damage
This horse had Collateral ligament damage and coffin joint issues.
-
Fitted with a Clog
This is a clog to help take the leverage off the sides of the foot.
-
-
Rails
We fitted some rails to add a bit of heel elevation.
-
Bevelling of the lateral side
We bevelled off the lateral side to help the horse land flatter.
-
SuperFast rim
This horse had multiple problems, but to summarize the inside of it's feet were falling out the bottom, and the feet were collapsing under the shear size of the horse (18hh).
-
Screwing on Plywood
Another way of attaching a shoe.
-
Plywood shoe
Here is a shoe made out of plywood.
-
Clog screwed to the bottom
This clog helps the horse to breakover, and works like a joint on the bottom of his foot.

-
Heel View
Under the shoe is Impression Material to share the load over the sole.
