Knife Injury
This horse trod on a Swiss Army knife and it went in along the side of his frog. This wound needs to be regularly dressed and also needs to be protected from any dirt getting in which could lead to infection. In this instance you would need to make a hospital plate that can be removed for re-dressing. A bar shoe has been used to give a 360 degree surface to fit the plate to. Also then all the inside edges of the shoe can be sealed with Impression Material to stop dirt from getting in.

Hospital Plate
This is a 3mm very hard Multi-Purpose pad that had been cut to size and holes drilled to fit 4 bolts. This can then be removed daily to get to the wound.

Seal
From this view of the back you can see the back of the foot is also sealed with Impression Material to stop dirt from getting in.
