Right Hind Pre-pad
Rio had just had x-rays taken of all of his feet to which we found that the pedal bones in all four feet were tipped slightly back at a negative angle. Our suspicions were correct. Rio wasn't lame and was competing at dressage but the vet and myself thought with some extra support to his feet we could prevent a possible lameness for the future. You can see the front of his hoof wall is slightly domed, this is one of the external indicators showing the angle of the pedal bone within the hoof capsule.

Right Hind with graduated pad
This is the same hind foot with a Natural Balance Wedge pad. This pad helps to re-align the hoof pastern axis and also forces him to take pressure through his frog which also helps with the function and alignment of the back portion of the foot.

Front foot with Pad
This is an example of his front foot fitted with the same style of pad.
